My 16 Weeks on My First Blog Tour
So 16 weeks ago I started my first blog tour with Tasha Turner and the TTCVBT. I had no idea who Tasha really was or what a blog tour was. Were my eyes opened!
It was challenging writing about myself and my ideas. It was so much fun meeting other writers. Some published, some not. It was encouraging as an unpublished writer, hearing everyones struggles to get to our goals.
I've written weekly blogs for awhile now. I had slipped into laziness and had stopped posting. The tour motivated me to start posting again, to be brave enough to join other blog tours, to help others promote their work.
I had some writer friends that were helpful with answering my questions about writing and publishing, but the people I have met on this blog tour are supportive. They truly want to help each other. We all promote each other. No competition. No judging each others works. We all really want each other to succeed. Its awesome!
I have experience at marketing and finding my market. Its been great learning even more from Tasha. I had let my twitter account fall by the way side. I'm still not keeping up with it very well but I try. I have learned how to bring folks to my fan page on Facebook. And I've found even more writers that love helping each other.
This has been a fantastic experience. If you haven't tried it, you should. I can't wait to do it again! Next year Tasha?
Glad you had fun. I learned tons from everyone. I will be doing shorter tours. I loved the energy and the support and how we became a team. It was great fun.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've learned from the Tour and I for one was glad to do it along side you even if we were never in the same group. The advice shared from everyone is invaluable :)
ReplyDeleteWell, mine is going to be week 14 I believe, posted on September 19. Hope I can measure up and especially find the time. I work full time and I'm about to launch a book. So I'm going to need all the help I can muster. You sound like you're doing great, Linda. Congragulations
