Squeezing the oranges in the produce isle, he approached her.
"How are the oranges today?" He asked.
"Ripe," she commented, glancing at him from the corner of her eye.
"Um, which squash is better?"He asked, pointing toward the zucchini and the yellow squash.
"Depends what you're making?"
"Dinner...for you"
"Oh?"
Finish the story...
"Oh?" she said from beneath coy lashes. "Then you should know vegetables are all well and good but I have a voracious appetite for meat...."

DeleteYes! dinner is at 8, crab cake appetizers, grilled salmon, your choice of squash. Then after a walk through the park, maybe you'd like to sample each other for dessert!

DeleteShe was pleasantly surprised, this was the first time in 10 years he had offered to make dinner for her. The sceptic in her head kept telling her that something is not right. Perhaps, he had done something wrong and wanted to make up for it. But the romantic side of her brain chose to ignore the ranting and just enjoy the attention.
